Dyson questions
Which Dyson do I have?
Find the model number on your Dyson's label and type it in the box at the top of this page. These are the models each generation covers: Dyson V6: DC58, DC59, DC61, DC62, DC72, DC74, HH08, SV03, SV04, SV05, SV06, SV07, SV08, SV09. Dyson V7: HH11, SV11, SV37. Dyson V8: HH15, SV10, SV10D, SV10E, SV10K, SV25 (not Dyson V8 Cyclone, SV55). Dyson V10: SV12, SV12G, SV27, SV58 (not 285O, 285P, SV18, SV55-A, SV55-AE, V10 Konical).
How do I find the right adapter on this page?
Start with your Dyson's generation at the top of the page. Then find the battery you already own in the table: each price opens the adapter that joins the two, and a dash means we don't make that pairing.
Can I use my Dyson battery on a power tool?
No. These adapters work one way: a power tool battery runs your Dyson. We don't make an adapter that puts a Dyson battery on another brand's tool.
Why do some batteries say 18V and others 20V?
They are the same class of battery, measured at two different moments. Five lithium cells in series read about 20V fresh off the charger with nothing drawing from them, and settle to about 18V once a tool is running. A brand that prints 20V is quoting the first figure and one that prints 18V is quoting the second. That is why an adapter between an "18V" platform and a "20V" platform works: there is no conversion to do.
