Greenworks 40V is the garden range — mowers, trimmers, hedge cutters and blowers — where the battery is a large share of what you paid and most people own exactly one. It also spends half the year in a shed doing nothing.
2 adapters here, all in one direction: a 40V pack driving another brand's tool. Running a Greenworks 40V tool from someone else's battery is not something we make an adapter for yet. Worth knowing before you order — 40V is a separate system from Greenworks' own 24V range and the two packs do not interchange, so the adapter you need is chosen by platform, not by brand. Use the finder if you know both ends of the pairing.

Is a Greenworks 40V battery 40V or 36V?
Both — it is one battery described two ways. 40V is what it measures fresh off the charger with nothing drawing from it; 36V is what it settles at under load, and that is the figure most other brands print on the tool. So a 40V battery and an 36V tool are the same class of battery, which is exactly why an adapter between them works.
Will this fit my other Greenworks batteries?
Only Greenworks 40V batteries. Greenworks also sells Greenworks 24V, and those use a different socket — same brand, different rail and terminals, so they need their own adapter. Compare the sliding rail on your battery against the photos before ordering.
How do I find the right adapter on this page?
Use the selector at the top: pick the platform on the other side of the pair and it takes you straight to the one adapter that joins them. Every combination in that list is one we actually make, so if it is there, it exists.
Can I run Greenworks 40V tools from a different brand’s battery?
Not with an adapter from us. Greenworks 40V works as the battery side only here — we make adapters that let a Greenworks 40V battery power other brands’ tools, not the reverse.
Can I charge a Greenworks 40V battery through the adapter?
No. The adapter carries current from the battery to the tool and does nothing else — there is no charging circuit inside it. Keep charging Greenworks 40V batteries on their usual Greenworks charger.
Will an adapter damage my Greenworks 40V battery or my tool?
Used with undamaged, compatible equipment it is not expected to. Greenworks 40V batteries are lithium-ion with their own protection circuit built into the battery, and it keeps doing its job through the adapter. Stop when the tool noticeably slows rather than running the battery flat, and stop using the adapter if it becomes unusually hot or the contacts look damaged.
Does it work with third-party Greenworks batteries?
Usually. What matters is the socket, not the badge: if the battery slides onto a Greenworks 40V tool and locks the way an original does, the adapter will take it. Aftermarket batteries do vary in moulding, so if yours looks unusual send us a photo and we will check before you order.
